Online-banking help for former HSBC Canada clients
The former HSBC Bank Canada service moved to RBC following the acquisition in March 2024. This page keeps the original guide address useful while directing access questions to the current provider. It is not an HSBC or RBC sign-in page.
Before you enter a password
Navigate to RBC’s official website yourself, or open the app identified on RBC’s own mobile-banking page. Check your present account documents. Do not follow an unsolicited “migration assistance” message or share a one-time code with a caller.

Work through the access question
- Identify the account. Check the current institution and product name on a recent statement. Keep any old documents for your own records.
- Use current recovery tools. Follow the provider’s present forgotten-password or registration process. An old tutorial’s screen labels may no longer match.
- Ask about missing records. If you need a statement from before the transition, ask the current provider how to request it and whether a retrieval fee applies.
- Check linked services separately. Credit cards, investing, international services and business banking can have different access paths. Do not assume one app or password covers every product.
- Confirm payments. If a direct deposit, bill payment or pre-authorized debit appears wrong, ask the provider to confirm its status and instructions before changing or repeating the payment.
If you still cannot get in
Use the number on your current bank card or the support details published on the bank’s official website. Describe the problem without sending passwords or identity documents to an unsolicited address. The bank may have an identity-verification process; BankOnline does not perform it and cannot unlock an account.
Questions to bring to the bank
- Which product and account identifier should I use now?
- Where can I find statements and tax documents from each period?
- Which current fees, transfer limits and linked-service terms apply?
- What is the safe procedure for restoring access on a replacement phone?
